"I am a resident of Panama, and I was raised in Mayville. In college I earned my associates degree at Jamestown Community College in the areas of math and science. From there I earned a BS in Geology at Fredonia State. My undergraduate work included a field camp in the Catskill Mountains and a research project on the oil and gas potential of Chautauqua County. My first professional job was as a polymer chemist for the Proctor & Gamble Company in Cincinnati OH where I worked and lived for 6 years. During this time I completed my masters degree work in education at Xavier University and the College of Mount St. Joseph. I am happily married with three children."
I have taught biology (The Living Environment) at Jamestown High School for nine years. I attended Jamestown Community College and received a Bachelor of Science degree at the State University of New York at Fredonia in GeneticEngineering. I worked at a private immunodiagnostic laboratory and taught chemistry laboratories at Jamestown Community College for a number of years. It was during this time that I realized that I enjoyed the learning environment and decided to pursue a new career. I returned to Fredonia for my education certification and Master’s Degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.
My husband and I live in Falconer with our two children, Joe a junior at the University of Notre Dame and Rachel, an elementary student at Paul B. D. Temple School.
Hello !! My name is Doug Foster. I grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York in a little town called Seneca Falls. I have been chasing bugs, worms, snakes and just about every other creepy crawly thing you can name most of my life.
As a boy I loved spending time on my grandfather’s dairy farm. I loved being around the animals and having time to explore the woods and the Little Brokenstraw, the stream that flowed through the pasture.
After I graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls I attended SUNY at Cobleskill and received my AAS degree in Agriculture and Natural Sciences with an emphasis in Fish and Wildlife Management in 1977.
In 1978 I left on an adventure to Provo, Utah and Brigham Young University where I completed a BS degree in Professional Biology before completing education classes, student teaching and receiving my teaching certificate.
The summer of ’78 was spent working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Yellowstone National Park. It was the time of my life! I spent much of the summer in the backcountry doing lake surveys, trapping and cataloging fish, and a variety of other projects.
In 1981 I was hired by the Bonneville School Dist #93 in Idaho Falls ID where I taught Biology, Botany, and general chemistry along with coaching cross country and track for six years.
In 1987 we moved to Phoenix, AZ Where I taught at Frank Borman Jr. High (see Gemini and Apollo space programs) for 3 years.
In 1990 we had the chance to come back to that same old farm that fascinated me so much as a young boy and I was privileged to be hired by the Jamestown School district. I taught General Science for several years at Jefferson Middle School before moving to Jamestown High School where I have taught The Living Environment (formally called Biology) for the past 11 years. Along with The Living Environment I have taught the AP Biology course for the last 3 years.
I still enjoy the creepy crawly things. My hobbies include but are not limited to, farming, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, playing coed volleyball with my wife, canoeing, playing tennis, Dutch oven cooking and other forms of outdoor cooking, wood working. Have anything else you want to try? Let’s give it a whirl!!

I grew up in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania, and joined the U.S. Navy right after high school. I spent six years on a Nuclear fast attack (688 class) submarine (U.S.S. Norfolk - SSN 714) as an electrician, and I also worked on the nuclear reactor. While there I grew very fond of physics. I traveled to many countries, the most memorable ports were: Haifa-Isreal, Naples-Italy, Toulon-France, Haakansvahn-Norway, and the island of Crete. After the navy I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Physics Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I taught in NorthEast High School for one semester, then in the summer of 2000 I was hired at Jamestown High School. I earned my Master's of Education in Secondary Education - Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University five years later. I currently teach three levels of Physics at Jamestown High School: Advanced Placement, Regents, and Conceptual Physics.
I live in Warren PA, with my wife, BillieJo, of 14 years, Jessica - my 8 year old daughter, and Caleb - my 3 year old son. I enjoy hunting, fishing, skiing (I am a ski patroller at Mountain View in Edinboro), sports, and spending time with my family.
